Project 365

360/365

Poor Zoe got stuck under the house this morning.

We found her on one of the beams that holds the house up. Her and Lucy play under here all the time, but since we just had all of this rain, there was about 5 inches of stagnant water just sitting under there. (I’m sure that means this house is very up to code, Landlord.) We think that the water caught her off guard and she jumped up on the beams to get away from it…but then she was stuck. The poor thing just sat up there crying because she couldn’t get back down without being forced to wade back through all of the water. We tried getting her out through the crawl space entrance with treats, food, calling her…but nothing worked. So she just cried, literally, all day under there. Lucy even sat by the side of the house for hours, worried about Zoe. See—they kind of care about each other!

Then, who comes trotting in 15 minutes ago? Zoe, soaking wet and scared to death. She immediately went to the litter box. I guess when you gotta go bad enough, you’ll take your chances through any obstacle that’s in front of you. I’m just glad that she’s ok.

P.S. — Only 5 more pictures left for 2010! Wow!
